What is a doula? A doula is someone you come to know well by the time of your birth, and who is there during your labour focused solely on you and your partner. She is there to encourage you, remain objective, and help your partner feel more confident about how to support you. She can also assist you with practical knowledge on measures to relieve discomfort and encourage relaxation during labour. A doula can provide information when you have questions, and can help you communicate more effectively with your medical caregivers and support you in making choices that are right for you and your baby.

As your doula, I offer grounded, intuitive, and unwavering support through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. My role is to walk beside you, to listen deeply, to advocate for your wishes, and to help you feel informed, confident, and supported as you prepare to welcome your baby.

This is emotional, physical, and energetic support—tailored to you.

Pregnancy Support
During pregnancy, we build trust in your body and your inner knowing. Our sessions may include:

  • Birth education and informed choice support

  • Sessions with your partner for support & preference planning

  • Birth intentions and emotional support

  • Practical tools for comfort, confidence, and self-trust

  • Space to be heard, without judgement or agenda

Birth Support
During labour and birth, I provide continuous presence—steady, calm, and intuitive. I am on call 2 weeks prior and after your due date and can attend from whatever stage of labour you prefer e.g. at the home, or when you transfer to hospital.

This may include:

  • Grounded emotional reassurance and reassurance for your partner

  • Physical comfort measures, breath guidance, and positioning

  • Creating a peaceful, supportive birth environment

  • Gentle guidance to help you stay connected to your body and baby

  • Holding the energetic and emotional container so you can stay present

  • Support or guidance for your partner as well

I do not replace your partner or medical team—I support you so that everyone can do their role with clarity and calm.

Postpartum Support
The days and weeks after birth are sacred. I offer nurturing postpartum support to help you integrate the birth experience and settle into early motherhood with one - two sessions after you are home, including:

  • Emotional processing and birth debriefing

  • Practical guidance and reassurance

  • Gentle holding as you transition into your new identity

  • Space to rest, reflect, and feel supported

My Approach
My work is rooted in reverence for birth as a rite of passage. I blend practical doula care with intuitive presence, deep listening, and respect for your autonomy. You are the authority on your body, your baby, and your birth. This is support that centres you—your choices, your rhythm, your wisdom.

Testimonials:

“Rich and I kept saying after everyone left how lucky we have been to have you, thank you for all your support and incredible energy, you helped our birth to unfold so beautifully and you gave me so much support I can’t even fathom what it would have been like without you there.”

“Anna was so amazing at holding space for me particularly in answering questions prior to the birth as it was my first birth experience. She helped my partner so much so he could take breaks and she was such a calm grounded person to have there at such an important time. She also made sure the hospital respected my birth plan and preferences and gave me time to make decisions. She also suggested changes of positions for comfort. I would highly recommend Anna being your doula as it is so helpful for so many reasons.”

“Anna supported the birth of our beautiful baby Sylvie in 2024. As a first time mum, I was doing my best to be prepared but was uncertain as my partner and I navigated pregnancy and preparing for birth. Meeting Anna for the first time was so reassuring - the trust was implicit from the get go.  As I would soon discover, labour and birth was an experience that would require me to ask for help and to draw strength from others in a way I hadn't done before. Anna was able to provide safety to facilitate this and made me feel at ease enough to communicate in whatever way I was able to at the time. Anna's ability attune to how i was feeling was also invaluable during the postpartum period as I processed the birth experience. I appreciated her support at this time as well as sharing the joy in welcoming our girl into the world. My family would highly recommend Anna to support you on your birth journey. She is an incredible asset to this work and has truly made an impact on our lives.” (Lily)
